How does your garden grow?

I always see characters in movies and in magazines carrying baskets full of lush fruits and vegetables from their garden.  Scenes like this always invite you in and make you feel like you are sitting at the table next to the basket having tea, probably garnished with a mint leaf from said garden.  The words abundance and cozy come to mind.  So, on a personal note, I have to tell you that I always thought that it was probably overrated, having a garden of your own.  Probably something that only looked that good in the movies or in the pages of a magazine.  I thought that it was most likely very high maintenance, hard to keep happy and healthy and would we really even be able to grow anything?

The exact opposite happened...it is completely underrated, very rewarding, and I definitely feel like I am sitting at that table on that page that I tore out of that magazine, sipping tea garnished with a mint leaf.  So far I have learned in Georgia we need lots of lime, we are lucky to be on well water, and I want to check it everyday as if Jack and the beanstalk will be waiting for me when I get home.

Look at our Lettuces!

Rasberries are getting there...

Blueberries are almost Blue!

Squash!

Beautiful Squash Blossoms

Carrots and Onions are coming!

There's the mint for our tea!

I had no idea what a difference fresh herbs made when cooking, huge difference!

I highly recommend that if you have a little green space, you take the plunge.  All of this was grown from seeds and look at it already!

Happy Gardening!
