Welcome to The Farm! Birthday Celebration.

She threw up her hat and said "Yee Haw" and I knew that my work here was done.  A very successful birthday for two adorable little twins.

The Little Nook transformed into a real country farm today.  Our guests included 16 precious children, a pot bellied pig, 2 lambs, 7 chickens, 3 ducks, 4 rabbits, 3 goats, and a farmer in overalls! We bobbed for apples and searched for a needle in the haystack.

"Yee Haw"!

Two of a kind.

If you are looking for a great birthday gift for a child, or you are just trying to figure out which lunch box to buy for your little scholar, this is our favorite!

Why do we love this?

We aren't hunting down different lids and containers at The Little Nook and you aren't hunting them down in you kitchen cabinets at home!

You can find store locations here.

Fairies and Gnomes and Gnomes Oh My!

The Little Nook is home to a very special Enchanted Forest where little children, and big children
( me ) can play and dream and imagine all day long.  Daily, I walk past the entrance to this magical room and out of the corner of my eye I swear I see little fairies and gnomes poking out behind the trees, and peering out of the windows of their toadstool houses.

A Woodland Birthday was calling my name and so four very sweet little boys became such gnomes as we played and blew out  birthday candles.

Of course, you will find while reading this that the photographs are MUCH better than usual.  While I aspire to have the light just right, and I am learning and getting better, I cannot take credit for these. Laura Negri Childers, a local photographer, and in this case, a birthday mom, shared these beautiful photographs with me.  If you are ever looking to have family portraits made, you should definitely check out her work here.

Gnome hats...we bought an extra large party hat and took it apart to make a pattern.  We drew that pattern on poster board and glue red felt to it.  Hole punch elastic and you are done!  This could not be any easier!!!!

I love felt!

I found these cute little cupcake toppers and I had to have them.  They are handmade.

I bought toadstool cookies to match!

Our little fairies and gnomes found individual watercolor treats waiting for them in the art room!

and a little cupcake cheer!

The garden gnomes were hiding in the flower boxes with little surprises for them to take home.

Laura, thank you for sharing your birthday boy and your photographs with me!  I hope you boys had a wonderful Woodland birthday!
