Please join us for Pound the Pavement for Peter 2012 – a 5K Family Fun Run benefiting children with Peroxisomal Disorders.
Pound the Pavement for Peter has become a highly anticipated family activity in the Atlanta area, bringing families together to raise awareness for this and other rare childhood diseases. This year's race will benefit the Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders to support the highly underfunded research for this disease as well as children struggling with this genetic disorder.
Unfortunately, Peter Hopkins lost his battle in October 2010, however, there are many other children around the world like Peter who have been severely affected by this degenerative and typically fatal disease. The money and support that you provide for “Pound the Pavement for Peter” will work to both support the promising research being done, as well as enhance the quality of the lives of these children and families.
In the past at this race, we have seen children with severe disabilities and medical fragilities participating in this race alongside other typical children, and we have watched families affected by rare developmental disorders be inspired by the hope and energy of the community that comes out to support this race.
Peter was an inspiring little boy, and we appreciate your love and support for this cause. Thank you for helping to continue to honor Peter and his legacy through this race, and we hope to see you there!
