January Newsletter

Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! Last week we bid farewell to 2011, a year of new beginnings and
bliss…thank you for making it one we will forever celebrate and cherish. As our
Little Nookers awoke from their annual Christmas cookie coma, they trickled in with
many a story to tell. It appears as though there were several encounters with Mr.
Claus and his precarious reindeer and many mornings spent tirelessly testing out
new toys and gadgets.
Christmas may be behind us but, rest assured, our celebration of the winter season
has only just begun. It may be 60 degrees in Buckhead, but at The Little Nook we’ll
be navigating the terrain of a winter wonderland. We’ll get acquainted with a few of
the COOLest animals in the North Pole, learn about the frosty fields they call home
and discover a solar system that is well…out of this world. So heat up the cocoa
mommas, winter is here and we are ready for an adventure.

The Little Nook

The Little Nook Handbook is hot off the press. Our unique learning philosophy, Kept
in the Nook rules and procedures, and newly minted traditions are now in ink and
ready for your reading pleasure. We request all parents of The Little Nook family
review our policies with a careful eye and sign an accompanying document
stating you have done so to be returned and kept in our care. Be on the lookout for
this important package in your little one’s backpack in the near future.

As our bountiful brood brings in the New Year we are presented with the most
pleasant of problems…The Little Nook is now a full house! In order to maintain the
intimate environment that we pride ourselves on providing, we ask that all Little
Nookers kindly adhere to the days for which they are regularly scheduled as we are
no longer able to accommodate make-up days and unscheduled drop-ins. We
thank you in advance for your understanding !

‘Tis the season for bundling up. We always appreciate a tot well prepared for the
elements, the more mittens the merrier! To ensure that all garments are returned to
their rightful owner, we request that they be clearly labeled with your little one’s

Post Office

We kicked off 2012 by going to The Post Office!

We loved putting mail in the mailbox and taking it out just like mom and dad do at home.  We even learned how to open letters, and since we were writing letters, we worked on our Alpha letters at the same time.  So fun!!!!

In the Exploration Room we always end our time with some fine and gross motor skills!

In the art room we worked on making our own mailbox, Snail Mail, and writing our own letters and putting them in envelopes.  We may have danced to a little Motown "Mr. Postman" while painting the day away ; )

More fun in the Enchanted Forest...
