A BINGO Birthday!

{Flo Baby at 93}

I'm not sure what day or moment I truly began to appreciate my mother, but I know that it was not until I had children of my own.  As I add appointments and scratch through my Daily Calendar, I cannot help but wonder how my mom did it all...homemade french toast for breakfast, reminding me to brush my teeth, driving to school, tennis, cheerleading, parties, and the list goes on and on and on.  I know mine does.

        All of these thoughts resurfaced last night as we celebrated my mom's 74th birthday {sorry mom}.  We were playing BINGO, a game of pure luck, and as my 4 year old son sat in my sister's lap and cranked the wheel, I watched intently as the balls shuffled around inside and popped down the hole. All I could think was, man am I lucky.  I was lucky in that moment...I am lucky in life and I am so lucky that she is my mom.

There I stood in the cul-de-sac that raised me next to the house that I grew up in watching my 93 year old grandmother and my mother both yelling BINGO! I couldn't believe that my grandmother won the first round and then my mom followed with the second win of the night.  What a blast!  Thank you to a very special Alice in Wonderland for always being such a great friend and to all of my mom's friends, our family and neighbors for a fun night!
